Yesterday was Valentine’s Day; a lot of romantic activities took place. For a small town in Bauchi, it was an election. However, the election is still centred around love.
It is the story of a young lady, Khadija, who fell in love with two young men and couldn’t choose between them. Moreover, the two young men were reportedly madly in love with the lady and wouldn’t surrender.
Consequently, the elders of the small town conducted an election upon Khadija’s request. The outcome of the election was aimed at helping her decide who to choose.
Inusa scored the highest number of votes against his rival Ibrahim and that determined their fate.
A twitter user, Mubarak Umar, shared this intriguing short story along with some corresponding images of the electoral processes.
“Khadija has fallen in love with 2 boys but couldn’t choose 1 between them; none of the boys also ready to accept defeat. The elders of Giade town, Bauchi State (with Khadija’s request) conducted an election and Inusa scored the highest number of votes, against his rival, Ibrahim,” Mubarak Umar said.
It remains to be seen how this interesting love story ends. For now, the election appears to have settled their confusion, we hope!
