Mr Olisa Metuh has been convicted and found guilty of all the charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisah Metuh is standing trial together with his company, Destra investment for diversion of funds.

He was alleged to have received N400 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

The EFCC charged him with seven counts charges of money laundering and diversion of funds.

The ruling lasted for hours in the Federal High Court, Abuja, and was presided over by Justice Okon Abang.

Justice Okon revealed that Colonel Dasuki’s actions led to a criminal violation of trust and official corruption involving Metuh.

Also, the prosecution alleged that Metuh was involved in an illegal transaction that involved the exchange of $2million, violating existing financial regulations.

According to the Judge, Mr Metuh lacked any documentary proof to prove that former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the release of N400 million supposedly for security reasons.

Moreover, the judge stated that the prosecution does not need to have any evidence of Dasuki’s conviction before moving for Metuh’s conviction.

Metuh who was arrested in January of 2016 has appeared in court several times since then.

Until recently, Dasuki has been in custody since 2015 for alleged misappropriation of a certain $2.1billion.
