The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has revealed that he tested positive for coronavirus.

The governor took to Twitter to confirm his positive status, while also revealing that he is currently not showing any symptoms.

“Today, I tested positive for #COVID19. All is well. I’m asymptomatic and have been self-isolating. “Work continues. Your continued prayers over my wellbeing are most appreciated,” the governor wrote in a tweet.

According to him, he earlier suffered symptoms of malaria and received treatment for it. However, one person advised him to go for COVID-19 test, which he heeded. Sadly, the result came back positive.

He, however, revealed that he is currently not showing any symptoms, but has decided to remain self-isolated at home and take necessary treatments, based on his doctor’s advice.

Akeredolu is the latest high profile person to test positive for the coronavirus that’s sweeping across the world.
