‘Buhari to Adress the Nation by 7 pm’ – Femi Adesina Reveals

0

President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation today by 7 pm Central African Time.

Femi Adesina, who is the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, disclosed this via a statement on his official blog.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 7pm.

“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.”

This is coming after so much pressure from Nigerians for him to address the nation. Recall that his failure to communicate live has attracted criticisms from several people, including Oby Ezekwesili who described his actions as disrespectful.

Femi Adesina did not disclose what the president will be discussing; however, most people will expect his discussion to be centred around the current outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Recall that we reported that the number of cases has now risen to 97, most of which are in Lagos.
