The Federal Capital Territory Administration has announced that it shut down a wedding ceremony at Wuse Zone 6 in Abuja, for violating the ban on public gatherings.

“The FCT Enforcement Team which includes security & law enforcement agents has shut down a wedding ceremony happening at Wuse Zone 6,” The FCTA wrote on their official twitter handle.

They went on to warn people that they will not tolerate any kind of gathering, urging residents of Abuja to abide by the instructions.

“The FCTA will not tolerate any kind of gathering as we continue to urge residents to abide strictly by the laid down guidelines,” They added.

In a bid to curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus, several states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory have banned all forms of public gatherings.

School and religious centres are to remain closed. Also, workers from Grade Level 1 to 12 are to remain in their homes; those not offering essential services.
