‘Coronavirus is an opportunity to save 95% on wedding cost’ – author Ikenna says

Nigerian author, Ikenna Ronald Nzimora, has urged intending couples not to postpone their upcoming wedding. According to him, the strict coronavirus lockdown presents an opportunity to save 90-95% of what weddings would have cost.

Many state governments have imposed a restriction on gatherings of more than 50 persons. Lagos State, on the other hand, has gone the extra mile by imposing a ban on gatherings of more than 20 persons.

Ikenna sees this as an opportunity to save cost and has, therefore, urged intending couples to take advantage of it.

“If you already have a wedding already planned for this period, DO NOT POSTPONE IT,” he wrote.

“Just get your immediate families/close friends and go on ahead with it.”

“Save the 90%-95% on what it’d have cost you anyway.”

“Don’t listen to anyone who tells you to shift it. Don’t,” he added.

Generally, Nigerians spend extravagantly on weddings and so many people end up accumulating debt in the name of marriage. Clearly, Ikenna doesn’t buy that unnecessary stress.
