According to the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, the Italian man, 44, who is the first victim of Coronavirus in Nigeria, will be discharged soon.
According to Channels, Dr Ehanire disclosed this at a conference in Abuja with the diplomatic community on the measures taken by the Federal Government to tackle the spread of Covid-19 in Nigeria.
While speaking, the minister reiterated that there are only two confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria currently.
The Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in February confirmed the first case which happened to be a 44-year-old Italian citizen.
Subsequently, the second victim was diagnosed having come in contact with the Italian man in Ogun State.
Following the outbreak of the novel disease in December, over 120,000 cases have been recorded; with over 3,400 deaths so far.
Earlier into this week, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the disease a pandemic. That is, the global spread of disease.
