Coronavirus: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tests negative

The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), has tested negative to coronavirus.

Recall that the Vice President reportedly went into self-isolation after someone he could have had physical contact with tested positive to the virus.

Meanwhile, his test result has now come out barely 24 hours later.

Senator Babafemi Ojudu, who is currently a Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Political Matters took to Twitter to reveal that Osinbajo tested negative to the killer bug.

“Coronavirus Watch: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tests negative,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the vice president is expected to remain in self-isolation for at least fourteen days since he made contact with a confirmed case.

Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, had on Tuesday disclosed confirmed Osinbajo’s self-quarantine in a tweet.

“VP Osinbajo yesterday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing while observing social distancing,” Laolu Akande wrote.

“Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols.”

Currently, Nigeria has reported 46 cases of covid-19, most of which are in Lagos and the FCT.
