Ecobank shuts Abuja branch after customer dies from coronavirus

Nigeria has recorded its first case of death resulting from the coronavirus. The victim, ex- PPMC Director, Suleiman Achimugu was an Ecobank customer.

Ecobank Nigeria has disclosed that the deceased, Suleiman visited their Abuja branch on the 12th of March, 2020.

The bank has released a statement confirming this report. According to the bank, at the time of visitation, the victim did not show any symptom.

However, the branch is closed down now and staff have also been placed in isolation.

The bank has now advised those who visited Ecobank, Wuse II, Abuja Branch, to self isolate for 14days in accordance to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.
