Four bridegrooms arrested for violating movement ban order in Zaria

The Zaria Zonal Command of Kaduna state Vigilante Service (KadVS) on Saturday arrested four bridegrooms for violating the ban on large gathering imposed by the state government.

Zaria Zonal Commandant of KadVS, Mallam Bala Galadima, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that KadVS arrested the defaulters within Zaria metropolis.

“Four bridegrooms with few of their friends, who were arrested, are in our custody; they will soon be prosecuted,” he said.

He also revealed that the arrests were made at Bakin Kasuwa, Lowcost, Mangwaron Babayo, and Magajiya settlements.

According to him, the service had reacted to intelligence information to help with the arrests of a groom, his bride and other guests at a marriage ceremony in the city on Wednesday.

The Nation reported that Mallam Bala said the arrests were effected at Tudun Wada, Layin Yan Izala and Nagoyi areas.

As a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus, the Kaduna state government had earlier shut down schools and campuses.

Furthermore, the government banned public gatherings involving more than 50 people.

In other news, Naijahomebased reported that the Governor of Kaduna State has tested positive to coronavirus.
