A Nigerian barrister, Aghwarianovwe Novwe Ikie, has narrated his dreadful COVID-19 experience.
Ikie who currently resides in London disclosed that he was in the ‘valley of the shadow of death’ at one point.
In fact, he experienced virtually all the symptoms related with the novel virus. Meanwhile, he refused going to the hospital because he was scared he could become infected with other deadlier strains of the bug.
Nevertheless, NHS staff were at his home to test him, and then confirmed that he suffered from the virus and that other members of his household had been exposed.
“The nights were terrible; I sweated a river,” he wrote on his blog.
He went on to say “members of my family unit are fully recovered.
“To the glory of God, I am also now almost fully recovered. My appetite is 100% back & the fever is gone.
“I lost no less than 7 kilograms in the short period. Please I do not want to receive phone calls as I presently require a lot of rest.
“God has been most merciful to me. I fall within the vulnerable group,” he added.
