The Osun State Police has arrested a 27-year-old man, Akinde Adeniyi, for bathing his wife, Akinde Deborah, with hot water while she was asleep for allegedly cheating on him.
According to reports, the unfortunate incident happened at the couple’s residential home, Oke-Owu area, Modakeke around 12:30 AM on Tuesday.
A source who confided in The Nation’s correspondent said the husband has always been suspicious of his wife’s extramarital affairs.
“Adeniyi poured hot water on the face of his wife who was asleep and caused a grievous burn on her face and body. She suffered a high degree burn and she has been rushed to a hospital.
One Falola Morufu informed the police about the incident before the husband, Adeniyi was arrested.
According to reports gathered by The Nation, Deborah has been taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife for treatment.
The Osun State Police public relations officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident saying the Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, has ordered a full investigation into the case.
