News reaching us has it that Officials of the Lagos State Government Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences Unit have started demolishing illegal structures at Mile 2.
According to Vanguard, they are currently targeting illegal “structures around government public schools at Mile 2, along Badagry Expressway and environs”.
The demolition exercise reportedly started around 5 am Today, 2nd March 2020. Meanwhile, structures that have been demolished include mechanic workshops, kiosks and commercial bus garages.
Before this demolition, the Chief Superintendent of Police, DSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, issued a 7-day ultimatum. Apparently, the affected businesses did not heed the warning.
