Adamawa State police have arrested a young man identified as John Cornelius for allegedly stabbing his friend’s 4-year-old son, David, to death.
The incident occurred in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa state. Apparently, Cornelius and the little boy’s father Stephen Emmanuel-Tarfa’s were friends. In fact, they were according to reports former besties who grew apart.
Cornelius showed up at Stephen’s house on February 19, 2020, and demanded they let him pass the night there. However, he stayed beyond one night, until the following night when the tragedy occurred.
Meanwhile, the reason Stephen let him stayed at his place for another night was that Cornelius showed signs of depression and being suicidal.
In an unfortunate turn of event, Cornelius brought out a knife and stabbed Stephen’s 4-year-old son several times in the neck.
Ultimately, the little boy’s life was cut short as he died later at Peace Hospital in Yola, Adamawa State.
In the meantime, the police are investigating the motive behind Cornelius’ action after which he’ll face charges for murder.
