The chairman of PEFTI Film Institute, Wale Adenuga has taken a swipe at the stars in Nollywood. According to him, a lot of them depend on sugar daddies and sugar mommies to live lavish lifestyles.
He noted that the industry does not make any profit and that they are not organized and that all the guilds in Nollywood are all made of sentiments.
He disclosed all these while speaking with newsmen over the weekend.
He said although the Federal government has done well by making loans available for movie-making more still needs to be done and sought for the restructuring of the industry.
“Many of them lift themselves by using sugar daddies and sugar mummies,” The Punch quoted him as saying at the opening of the PEFTI film institute in Ibadan.
“Many people are oblivious of the fact that many of the young Nollywood actors and actresses who live flamboyant lifestyles make their money outside film making. They make people believe everything is alright in the film making.
“You see them building big houses, living in affluence, but their source of money is beyond making the film.”
