Nigerian Armed Forces brutalize peaceful #RevolutionNow protesters

A handful of peaceful protesters took to the streets of the Federal Capital Territory to call for better governance in their country. However, they were arrested despite posing no threat to anyone.

The protest, it was learned, was to hold at the Federal Secretariat but was later moved to the Transcorp Junction around Unity Fountain, Abuja.

Protesters held several placards, calling for an and to bad governance, insecurity, and ‘senseless’ killings in Nigeria.

Convener of the protest, comrade Deji Adeyanju, alleged that not less than 63 of them were arrested by security agents on Wednesday.

Protesters beaten and brutalized

Several eyewitnesses have shared images and given their accounts of the barbaric treatments of protesters.

One of the supposed victims of the brutality took to Twitter to describe how she was beaten by the operatives, saying if things were good she wouldn’t be protesting.

Omoyele Sowore who has been a victim of mishandling himself took to Twitter to describe the treatment of the peaceful protesters as ‘inhuman and degrading.’

“Nigerian security agents subjecting peaceful #RevolutionNow protesters to inhuman and degrading treatment at Unity Fountain in Abuja,” Sowore wrote.

The protests eventually held at various locations of the FCT, it was gathered.
