The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, is currently trending on social media over fake certificate allegedly presented by the governor.
According to reports, The governor was sued by Edobor Williams, Ugbesia Abudu Godwin and Amedu Dauda Anakhu before a federal high court in Abuja.
He was accused of forging his bachelor of arts (B.A.) certificate in classical studies from the University of Ibadan.
According to his accusers, the certificate forgery makes Obaseki “not qualified to run or seek the office of the governor of Edo state” in the forthcoming 2020 governorship election.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, counsel to the governor, Alex Ejesieme, described the suit as silly and trivial.
This accusation against him is coming barely one week after a federal high court gave an order preventing Obaseki from arresting and prosecuting Adams Oshiomhole.
