Rivers State police have confirmed the arrest of a woman, identified as Chinyere, for supposedly abducting her neighbour’s two-year-old baby.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday in the D-Line area of Port Harcourt, River State.
Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident to The Nation yesterday, said they arrested two men in association with the incident.
According to Omoni, the rescued two-year-old victim has been reunited with her family and the suspects would be taken to court after investigations.
The Nation also quoted a source as saying “the suspects drugged the baby, put her in a zipped box and proceeded to a motor park before they ran out of luck.
It was gathered that upon investigation by police, Chinyere confessed drugging the child and putting the baby in a box.
“The baby was brought out of the box at the motor park sweating and crying, it was learnt.”
