The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a fake army captain.
You will recall that earlier on we brought to you the reports of a suspected impostor, defrauding people disguised as a DSS personnel
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Nnudam Fredrick in Uyo, the accused specializes in snatching cars in the state.
The PPRO said that the police recovered some cars from the suspect. The cars include one Toyota Carina car with Reg. No. TTU 331 SC, a Honda CRV with Reg. No. RSH 189 LV.
In addition to those two, they also recovered a Toyota Corolla with Reg. No. EG 710 EKY.
On the 2nd of February 2020, SARS operatives arrested three suspects; one from Abak LGA and the other two from Ikot Ekpene LGA.
According to the PPRO, he said, “Search conducted at suspect’s residence led to the recovery of an army uniform with the insignia of a captain.”
In addition to that, CSP Fredrick also stated that there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
He went further to assure the people on behalf of Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Imohimi Edgal of the safety of their lives and properties
Also, He called on society to offer useful information that would assist in the effective policing of the state.
