Spanish Princess Maria Teresa of Bourbon-Parma, the cousin of Spain’s King Felipe IV, becomes the first royal to die due to Covid-19 complications.
According to People, María Teresa “who was called the ‘Red Princess’ because of her outspoken views” died in Paris on Thursday, March 26, 2020.
Princess Maria was a professor at Complutense University in Madrid and at Sorbonne University in Paris.
The Princess was born on July 28, 1933, died aged 86. She is the daughter of then Infante Don Francisco Javier de Bourbon Braganza, Prince of Parma and Plasencia
She was never married and lived all her life being a loyal advocate of women’s rights.
