The irony of the celebration by some Fans is that they have given credit to Ronaldo who was present at the Bernabeu but was only watching from the stand.
Juventus’ match against inter Milan was postponed, as a result, Ronaldo was free over the weekend.
So the former Real Madrid player, Ronaldo made a short trip to Spain to watch his side take on their arch-rival, Barcelona.
Coincidentally, this is the first time Real Madrid is defeating Barcelona following Ronaldo’s exit from the club.
The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw. Then during the halftime break, Ronaldo went into the dressing room to address his former teammates.
Vinicius Jr who got the first goal for Real Madrid revealed that “he, Ronaldo came into the team at halftime to support the team and give us moral support.”
After netting in the first goal, Vinicius Jr did the Ronaldo celebration style. The player revealed that it was because of Ronaldo’s support that he celebrated like him.
He added: ” That’s why I celebrated like him, he is a winner in and out of the pitch.”
Ronaldo who was sitting in the VIP stand was nothing short of pleased as he celebrated the 19-year-old.
Mariano Diaz scored the second goal of the night to seal the win for Real Madrid.
This win is important to the club as they are now back to the top of the table, with one point ahead of Barcelona.
In any case, fans are not taking it lightly with Lionel Messi.
They have taken to Twitter to troll the Barcelona’s talisman; someone even said: “he was only watching from the pitch” like Ronaldo from the stand.
