South-East governors will soon unveil security outfit, Umahi tells Osinbajo

Following the South-West governors unveiling their own security outfit which they named “Amotekiun”; seems like the South-east governors are planning to follow suit.

The Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, Dave Umahi, told Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo that the south-East governors want to follow in the part of the fellow governors in the south-west.

Governor Umahi on Thursday told Prof Yemi that the governors south-east would in no distant time establish a distinct security outfit for the zone.

According to the governor, the aim for launching the security outfit is to ensure adequate security of lives and property.

Dave Umahi stated this during the commencement of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Clinics for viable enterprises in Ebonyi state by Prof Yemi.

“We have been challenged so much in the South-East because of security problems,” the governor said.

“I want to assure you that we are doing everything possible together with you and Mr President to secure our people. We will not break the constitution to satisfy our people, Umahi said

“We have our own Amotekun with us and we will soon unveil it within the limit of the constitution of the Federal Republic,” he added.
