The actor amassed huge popularity after starring in ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi’ as General Ematt, has died at the age of 76 after contracting Coronavirus. 

Speaking about his death, Jack’s agent, Jill McCullough said he died in a hospital in Surrey on Tuesday, March 31 following complications from Coronavirus. 

He said; 
“Andrew lived on one of the oldest working houseboats on the Thames, he was fiercely independent but madly in love with his wife, also a dialect coach.”

McCullough said the actor could not see his wife in his last days because she was quarantined in Australia.

Gabrielle Rogers, Wife of the Star Wars actor, revealed that her husband passed on two days after he was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. 

“We lost a man today. Andrew Jack was diagnosed with Coronavirus 2 days ago. He was in no pain, and he slipped away peacefully knowing that his family were all ‘with’ him. Take care out there, lovers.”

Fellow ‘Star Wars’ actor, Greg Grunberg also penned down a tribute to late Andrew Jack. He wrote; 

Devastated to hear of the passing of the wonderful, talented, beloved gentleman #AndrewJack. He is one of the kindest people I’ve ever worked with. Please stay safe. Please stay home!!! #RIPAndrewJack
