After nine solid months of carrying a child and going through the travail of labour, a mother decided to throw the baby away shortly after birth. It would have been fatal, had the baby landed at the other side of the fence.
Fortunately, students found the baby hanging atop the barbed wire around the hostel fence.
According to LindaIkejisBlog, the incident took place in Federal Polytechnic Oko, in Anambra State.
Students off-campus in Munachi Hostel, Oko, Orumba North L.G.A, found the newborn, with her placenta still attached, hanging from the barbed wire of the fence separating their compound from the empty plot of land beside it.
They attempted to throw her away immediately after giving birth to her; however, their plan failed as the baby hanged on the fence with its placenta and began to cry.
The cry of the baby attracted the attention of the residents of the hostel who came out to rescue the baby.
Meanwhile, the parents of the baby are on the run; however, the man’s roommate who agreed to the evil plot has been arrested.
Investigation revealed that the child’s father is an HND 1 student of Public Administration Department.
