And to meet this need, MTN Nigeria has a feature called Share n Sell.

MTN credit (Airtime) Transfer code

The MTN credit transfer USSD code starts with 600. And for SMS, all messages are sent to 777. But there’s a format which must be followed to achieve a successful transaction.

Generally, the Share n Sell feature is available to all MTN customers; however, there are certain conditions surrounding its use — which we shall be discussing right here.

First point to note is that, you can only transfer credit to fellow MTN subscribers. To put it differently, you are not permitted to send credit from your MTN line to Glo, Airtel, 9mobile or any other network.

Also, before you can use the Share n Sell service, you need to activate your transfer PIN.

That is, if you wish to change from the default 0000 PIN to 1215 via USSD, then you need to dial *600*0000*1215*1215#.

Afterwards, you’ll get a message confirming your transaction.

points to note

First and foremost, using Share n Sell doesn’t attract additional charges — hence only the amount you’re sending will be deducted from your balance.

In addition, all transactions are irreversible… so you must be very careful while initiating and confirming transactions.

Peradventure you forget your PIN in future (or you changed it and don’t know it anymore) call customer care on 180 and request for a PIN reset.

That’s pretty much everything about transferring credit on MTN lines.
