Popular Nigerian pastor and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, has condemned the recent rape and murder of a 22-year-old lady, Uwaila Omozuwa, which took place in a branch of his church.
Recall that NaijaHomeBased earlier reported that Uwaila Omozuwa visited a branch of RCCG in Benin to study.
Right inside the church, she was attacked by unknown men who raped her and beat her up using a fire extinguisher.
She subsequently died at the hospital were she was admitted due to the injuries she sustained from the rape.
The crime has now attracted the attention of several Nigerians who have been calling for justice.
“All I can do at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa and do everything possible working with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book,” he wrote ina tweet.
“I and members of my Family condemn this act strongly and urge everyone to stay calm as we are already looking into the matter and cooperating with the police to establish the facts of the shocking incident. #justiceforuwa,” he wrote.
