An Australian mom from Brisbane has shared a video of nine-year-old-son saying he wants to die due to perpetual bullying he’s facing at school.
The mom, Yarraka Bayles took to her Facebook account to share the heartbreaking video.
The boy, Quaden, was born with Achondroplasia, a form of Dwarfism and as a result of his stature, he is bullied in school.
In the video, Quaden was threatening to take his life, saying they refer to him as the dumbest kid in class.
The mum also talked about how she went to school to pick up Quadri and then she met a girl patting him like a puppy while making comments about his height.
According to her, she shared the video online because the bullying is persistent and Quaden has tried to take his own life several times.
In the video Bayles said:
“I’ve just picked up my son from school, witnessed a bullying episode, rang the principal, and I want people [to] know, parents, educators teachers, this is the effects that bullying has, this is what bullying does.”
She also noted that the 9-year-old is strong and confident but at times like this, he loses it, and it made her feel helpless.
she said:
“You could tell he was very uncomfortable but he was so good at trying to shrug things off, he doesn’t want people to know how much it’s affecting him, he’s so strong and confident but it’s times like these when you just see him crumble. It was just heartbreaking to watch, it made me feel helpless.”
