We Are Days Away From Finally Defeating Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorism – Buratai to Troops

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai has stated that overcoming Insurgency and putting an end to Boko Haram peril is just a matter of days away.

Of recent, the Nigerian army has been recording substantial victories over the Boko Haram sects.

Following these recorded successes, the COAS has congratulated the gallant soldiers and all their commanders serving in operation Lafiya Dole.

The various commanders include the Theatre Commander, Sector Commanders, Super Camps Commanders, Commanding Officers.

The COAS congratulated them for their bravery in the fight against terrorism.

The congratulatory message and commendations were contained in a letter to the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi, personally signed by the COAS.

In the congratulatory letter, the COAS showered praises on the troops and their commanders for the unique display of patriotism and bravery that led to the decimating the Boko Haram terrorists and their subsidiary ISWAP in different parts of the state.

Buratai said that he has never been so pleased and proud of the gallant troops in their concerted efforts of ending the menace of the criminal Boko Haram terrorists’ group and ISWAP.

He went on to urge them to continue to control the Theatre and maintain a high standard of professionalism.

He also urged them not to let the terrorists have any breathing space or freedom of action anywhere.

Furthermore, Buratai appreciated them for the renewed efforts that brought more confidence and hope in the troops by Nigerians.

In addition to that, he also stated that he has envisioned that with the replenished eagerness, it will only take a matter of days to put an end to the peril of Boko Haram.

He stated that his confidence in total victory has further been rekindled resolution of the troops on the ground.

He said: “I am more confident now than ever before with your current robust posture that you will end the BHT/ISWAP menace in no distance time.”

He reiterated his continued support for them and that the government will provide all they need to do more.
