Innocent Idibia was born on 18 September 1975 in the city of Jos, Nigeria. However, his actual state of origin is Benue. He is from the Idoma ethnic group precisely.
Although born in Jos, 2Baba spent a huge part of his early life in the city of Makurdi, capital of Benue state.
He finished his secondary education at Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State.
Upon the completion of his secondary education, he enrolled at Institute of Management & Technology, Enugu (IMT), and there he acquired a diploma in business administration and management.
2Baba started involving in music more while studying at IMT. He participated and performed at shows and parties organised within and around his institution.
As things would turn out to be, 2Baba dropped out from school so as to pursue his musical career.
He chose the then popular “2Face” or “Tuface” as his stage name in 1996.
He moved to Lagos and started performing with Blackface Naija (Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo), whom he had met while studying at MIT.
Faze (Chibuzor Oji) joined 2Face and Blackface Naija to form Plantashun boiz.
Together they released their first album, Body and Soul, in 2000.
They went further to release another album titled sold out in 2003.
But as destiny would have it, they split up in 2004 due to certain misunderstanding.
They got back together again in 2007, after sorting out their discrepancies, and released their third album, Plan B.
However, their reunion did not last for too long, since the sole purpose of them getting back together was to release “Plan B”.
2Baba began his solo musical career in 2004, immediately after the initial dissolution of Plantashun Boiz. He released the award-winning “African Queen” during that same period.
