Indeed, it isn’t the role of medical workers to reveal the identity of the celebrity who attended AMVCA7 and has now tested positive for coronavirus. The person reserves the right to do so at his/her own free will.

The people who came in direct contact with the confirmed case are the ones at risk the most. And it is only right that they know the person diagnosed with the killer bug.

Several popular persons around the world, including Idris Elba and his wife, Mikel Arteta, Kristofer Hivju, to name a few came out openly to confirm that they had coronavirus, proving there’s no shame about it.

That way, contact tracing will be a lot easier and a likely spread will be minimal.

The fact is, careers of the bug will most likely be asymptomatic and might not even believe they have the virus.

No doubt, the NCDC has been doing a great job at contact tracing. But if the celebrity comes out to confirm he/she has the bug, the people who came in contact with him and know about it will at least be more careful, thereby reducing a likely spread. Also, they could apply to be tested and if positive begin treatment immediately, which could be lifesaving.

Probably, the NCDC is depending on the information the confirmed case is providing. However, we can’t rule out the possibility that he/she could skip out one or two persons when mentioning the people he/she met, shook hands with, hugged, sat with, and so on.
