• The centenarian hails from Umuenem Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Council of Anambra State
• They reportedly also looted the house and a shop near it.

While we pray to live long lives and not die prematurely, no one prays to be faced with the unfortunate situation a certain Magret Owuelo finds herself in.

Mrs Margret Onwuelo who happens to be from Umuenem Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Council of Anambra State, is currently faced with homelessness.

This is as a result of land grabbers who demolished her house and also made away with some of her belongings.

According to reports, she currently lives at the mercy of neighbours. She has, therefore, called on the Governor and people of Anambra State to come to her aid and save her from facing more threats from her attackers.

The saddened old woman lamented that aside from being homeless, she also lost everything she and her late husband worked for.

She blamed her unfortunate fate on unnamed people close to the family members who she said had long wanted to take over the land she according to her was acquired by her late husband, 67 years ago.

She said, “I’m now like a fugitive. I’m surviving through the help of my neighbours and relations, who were eyewitnesses to the act.”

She called on Governor Willie Obiano, the people of Nnewi, philanthropists, churches and non-governmental organisations to come to her aid.

Speaking on the incident, an eyewitness said, “They pulled down the fence, broke the provision store in front of the house and took all the provisions and drank off all the beer, the hot drinks, all the soft drink as well and cigarettes. They finished everything including the money inside the shop, nothing was left”.
