Some men in Onitsha supposedly went into town today to rebuke traders who have increased the prices of food items.

Given the lockdown in several states, foodstuffs and other commodities in the market have become unavoidably scarce. Some traders have taken advantage of this scarcity to sell their stuff at a very expensive price.

One of such traders is a female garri seller who allegedly increased the price of her garri from ₦500 to ₦1500.

Some Men in Anambra state took it upon them to go around the market to reprimand sellers who are guilty of this act.

In their search for defaulters, they found the said garri seller and threw away her big bowl of garri on the floor.

A Facebook user, Jestymoore Nnokwa took to her account to share the story. She wrote along with the photos:

“Today In Onitsha,  Igbo boys went into town to see those wicked and cruel market women selling food items at exorbitant prices, unfortunately for this Garri seller, she was selling Garri of N500 for N1500 and the boys threw everything away on the ground.

“They were upset with what they saw in the market today in Onitsha market 
But do you support the actions of the boys?
