BET Awards 2020: Burna Boy wins Best International Act for 2nd year in a row (Video)

Popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has won the Best International Act for the second year in a row. This makes him the first Nigerian artiste to win the BET Awards back to back.

Popular British supermodel, Naomi Campbell presented the award to Burna Boy virtually.

Also, the singer gave his acceptance speech virtually. The virtual presentations is as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The singer beat Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Stormzy (UK), Innoss’B (DRC), Dave (UK), Ninho (France), and S.Pri Noir (France) to win the award.

This would be the first-ever virtual BET Awards since the inception of the award. It held on Sunday night. 

In his acceptance speech, the ‘On The Low’ crooner said: “I’ll like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was a mission to turn Africa into a dominated nation.”  

“Now is the time to overturn that and go back to the royalty that we were, because, in order for black lives to matter, Africa must matter”.
