Buhari’s Chief of Staff Abba Kyari dies of coronavirus

News reaching us confirms the passing of President Buhari‘s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari after he contracted the novel coronavirus.

Buhari’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, broke the sad news on behalf of the president.

“The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari,” he wrote.

“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God accept his soul.

“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly,” Femi Adesina added.

Abba Kyari was the first notable person to contract the coronavirus after returning from an official trip to Germany.

Prior to his death, details of his well being have been a subject of many speculations.
