Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has tested positive to covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
Abba Kyari was appointed Chief of Staff to President Muhamadu Buhari since 2015 and has held that position ever since.
The Chief of Staff recently returned from a trip to Germany which has over 30,000 confirmed cases. As such, many reports believe he contracted the bug as a result of the trip.
Abba Kyari, had before his diagnoses written to the Speaker of the House of Representatives expressing discontent over how some members of the House of Representatives returning to Nigeria avoided coronavirus screening when they touched down at the airport.
In the leaked letter, he urged the erring reps to visit a test centre immediately as their actions posed a serious threat to national security.
Apparently, Abba Kyari decided to take the test based on medical advice despite not exhibited any symptoms, according to The Cable.
His result came back positive according to the report and is now under isolation at a medical care facility.
Meanwhile, the presidency has not commented on the test result that has since gone viral on all the popular websites in Nigeria.
