A Catholic priest, Rev. Father Cyprian Kooro, reportedly slumped and died in Rivers State.
The Priest who slumped while conducting service at St Helene Catholic Church Ogbogoro, was then rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
However, all efforts to revive him proved fruitless as the doctors confirmed him dead a few hours later.
The unfortunate incident occurred earlier today, 22 March 2020.
NigerDeltaToday quoted an eyewitness as saying, “Father was saying the homily when he bowed his head and maintained silence for some minutes.
“When they tapped him, say father, father, he sprang up, asking where did I stop? Then he fell again. They rushed him to UPTH.
“At the hospital, doctors said he had high blood pressure. After much effort to save him, he was confirmed dead.”
Rev Fr. Cyprian Bariyima Kooro was, prior to his death, priest of St Helen’s Catholic Church, Ogbogoro in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
