If not for coronavirus we would have finished the Lagos-Ibadan rail -Rotimi Ameachi

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has stated the reason for the delay in the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan rail project.

According to the minister, global novel disease, Coronavirus (COVID-19) is the reason why the rail project has not been completed.

Speaking live in a TV program on Africa Independent Television (AIT), Ameachi said the work has been halted because of the spread of the disease into Nigeria.

He said that if not for the virus, they would have finished the project by now; noting that the employees of the contractor in charge of the work are still in China.

He said: “If not for coronavirus we would have finished the Lagos-Ibadan rail, although the project is nearly completed. CCECC workers are still in China.

However, he maintained that the Lagos-Ibadan rail project is nearly completed.

You will recall that we told you about the Italian man that brought the novel disease into the country.

After the Italian man, there have been several suspected cases. However, the Lagos state government said they have everything under control.
