The Federal University Lafia is located in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State. The institution was established in 2010 by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Although the institution is very young compared to other federal universities, it has continued to witness immense growth academically and in students’ numbers.
Right now, FULafia has a capacity of several thousand. And, considering the low competition, it is one of the best institutions to apply to.

FULAFIA admission requirements
In order to be considered for admission in any of the approved courses in FULAFIA, you must meet with certain departmental requirements along with several other general requirements.
UTME requirements
Admission through UTME requires at least five (5) credit passes at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) in not more than two sittings. Furthermore, UTME candidates are to get an aggregate score not less than 180 in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
IMPORTANTLY:
- candidates must possess credit passes in English Language and Mathematics irrespective of the department of interest.
- candidate must meet specific departmental requirements, including SSCE subject combination and UTME aggregate score.
- Lastly, candidates must take part in the compulsory Post UTME screening exercise.
Direct Entry (DE) requirements
- To gain admission through Direct Entry, candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE in not more than two sittings.
- Also, interested candidates must have at least two advanced level passes in OND with credit level; or NCE, also with credit level.
