The Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has debunked a ‘false’ report making round on the web.
Recall that NaijaHomeBased reported on Abba Kyari testing positive for coronavirus. In another report, we revealed that president Buhari tested negative. However, many people have continued to express doubts at Buhari’s test result.
In fact, some have alleged that he tested positive and hid it from Nigerians. Meanwhile, the rumour currently circulating claims that the president and his Chief of Staff have been secretly flown abroad for treatment.
However, Bashir Ahmad has now responded to the viral claim.
“FAKE NEWS ALERT: The voice note that President Buhari and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari have been secretly flown out of the country is totally UNTRUE,” Bashir Ahamad wrote. “It was intentionally recorded to cause chaos and fear.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s cases of covid-19 have continued to increase steadily. Currently, there are 65 confirmed cases, most of which are in Lagos and the FCT.
