Germany has donated the sum of €5.5 million, which amounts to ₦ 2.2 billion to help Nigeria in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Nigeria took to its Twitter handle announce it, thanking the European nation for their ‘generous donation’.
“Germany pledges €5.5m to the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund,” UNOCHA Nigeria wrote in a tweet.
“It’s more critical than ever for vulnerable people to have access to clean water, food & shelter.
“This will enable partners to continue delivering life-saving aid amidst COVID-19,” The statement added.

Germany is among the worst-hit countries in the world with over 80,000 coronavirus cases and nearly 1,000 deaths, according to Worldometers.
Aside from Germany, several billionaires have been donating to the Federal Government Covid-19 relief funds these past few weeks.
