The founder of Dabota cosmetics, Dabota Lawson has narrated how she had to start from scratch after divorcing her billionaire ex-husband. According to her, she had to sell under the staircase of a mall to make ends meet, and because of that, some people mocked her.
They questioned why she’d live a billionaire husband and have nothing to show for it.
Indeed, after marrying a billionaire, one wouldn’t expect her to sell under the staircase. In any case, the nature of her divorce with Sunny Aku isn’t clear. However, what is clear is that she went through trying times.
However, she didn’t let the pride of being married to a billionaire husband prevent her from hustling.
The beauty queen shared a picture of how she started small, selling at her spot near a staircase, saying: “5 years ago this was all I had as a business,” Dabota Lawson said on her Instagram post. “This little spot under/near the staircase of a mall that so many people used to mock me because to them I just left a billionaire and had nothing to show for it.
She continued, “How time flies. Such a humbling period in my life. A real downtime. I don’t need to go into details of where I am today so I don’t get carried away and maybe seem boastful (you already know). A reminder that no matter how tough it gets, it can get better. Cheers to getting better and doing better.
She also took some time out to appreciate the people who stood by her through her trying times. “Lots of love to those who have constantly stood by me. God bless you,” she added.
