Nigerian singer Davido, who is widely considered the richest musician in Nigeria revealed he was ‘really broke’ while growing up.

According to him, being the last child among 5 children, things were quite tough for him after his mother died when he was just 11 years old.

The singer also went on to stress the fact that he’s always had the mindset to go out and make it on his own despite having a rich father.

Insisting that the reason most children with wealthy parents remain broke is that they have the mentality of just going to school and thereafter work in their parents’ companies.

As for him, he broke away from that norm. Instead, he hustled for his own business and money.

Meanwhile, he attributed part of his success to the fact that his father supported him.
