Empire actor, Bryshere Gray, was arrested on Monday after his wife accused him of assaulting her until she passed out.

Bryshere Gray played the role of Hakeem, the third son of Lucious and Cookie Lyon in the Fox drama, Empire.

According to reports, his wife flagged down a passerby at a gas station, who helped her to call the police.

However, he barricaded himself in his home and refused to come out after police arrived at their home in Goodyear, Arizona, to speak with him.

His wife had told police earlier in the night that he had assaulted her for hours. According to her, had strangled her until she passed out temporarily.

The incident began at about 10.15pm when a call came from a Circle K gas station in Goodyear asking the police to come help a woman. 

According to the police report received by Fox 10, the woman had waved down the passerby at another gas station, stating that ‘she had been assaulted at her Goodyear home for the last several hours by her husband.

The passerby then drove the woman – who is yet to be named – to the Circle K and called 911, it was then the woman named Gray as her husband.  

Police said the woman had many noticeable injuries on her body and that she had said Gray had choked her at one point, leading to her momentarily losing consciousness.

Thereafter, the woman was taken to the hospital where she recieved treatment for her injuries and was released. 

Gray who hid himself inside the house and refused to come out later came out on his own on Monday morning, 7 am then he was taken into custody.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Maricopa County Jail. 

As of now, Gray faces charges including assault (domestic violence), aggravated assault (strangulation) and disorderly conduct.
