Naira Marley and his crew flew to Abuja to hold a concert despite the travel restrictions imposed on Nigerians.

The video of the concert was since greeted with widespread criticism, as the fans were packed up and didn’t observe social distancing.

For that reason, airline that conveyed him and his crew to Abuja was immediately suspended.

According to Special Assistant to President @MBuhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, who confirmed the suspension, the flight was approved to convey someone else, and not Naira Marley.

Also, Jabi Lake Mall was sealed up by the FCTA indefinitely, as confirmed in a tweet on their official handle.

Due to that, the CEO of the private jet company,  Sam Iwuajoku, issued an appology letter and in it referred to Naira Marley and the other people who boarded the jet a bunch of useless people.

According to him, their company mistook Naira Marley for the Minister for Works, Babatunde Fashola, because one of the passengers in the manifest used the same name.

Indeed, Naira Marley’s brother, who goes by the name Babatunde Fashola, was among the people who boarded the jet. Also, former BBNaira housemate Kim Oprah was among the team that followed Naira Marley to Abuja.

“We hereby apologize for the above flight, with your permit rex: FMA/ATMD/0175/V/V/ 1268 dated 11th June. 2020.

“Please the flight was to carry a Judge to Abuja on Sunday 14th. 2020 as requested and permit was granted based on the application, but unfortunately when I called the Judge on Saturday morning to inform him that we have the permit, he then said that he has reached Abuja already with a different flight that someone gave him a lift to Abuja.

“So on Saturday morning 13th June, 2020 my staff called me that they have a charter flight to Abuja and that the passengers are already in the lounge as a rule passenger manifest is always sent to me before any departure, when I went through the manifest and I saw FASHOLA BABATUNDE I thought it was the Honorable Minister of Works going to Abuja with his men, so we decided to do the flight since is a serving minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I didn’t know that it was a bunch of useless people.

“We are very sorry for this mistake and we promise that this would not happen again. Kindly see attached Passenger Manifest for the flight.

“Thank you for your understanding,” The apology letter added.
