FG orders shutdown of schools nationwide amid coronavirus fears

The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered the shutdown of schools nationwide, which includes tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools.

This move is coming following the gradual increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria. It is believed that the closure of schools will help combat the spread of the deadly virus that has so far claimed over 8,000 lives worldwide.

According The PUNCH, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono, confirmed this report in Abuja on Thursday.
