The Federal Government of Nigeria has set a date for the commencement of WAEC for the 2020/2021 academic session.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, revealed this while briefing the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.
He revealed that the exams will take place between August 4th and September 5th, 2020.
President Buhari’s media assistant, Bashir Ahmad, made this known via a message he shared on Twitter.
“The Federal Government has just announced that the WAEC examinations will take place between August 4th and September 5th, 2020,” he wrote.
“[The] Minister of State for Education announces that today at the Presidential Task Force on COVID–19 daily briefing in Abuja.”
This is coming following a long delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic that has derailed the whole world.
Many Nigerians have previously expressed concerns over how the popular exam body plans on conducting such an exam and observe proper social distancing.
Meanwhile, millions of candidates are expected to sit for the exam.
