As disclosed in the Forbes Africa’s Billionaires list for 2020, the President/CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote is Africa’s richest person for the ninth consecutive year.
According to the list released recently, only eight African countries have billionaires
However, Egypt and South Africa have more persons in the list with each country having five billionaires; Nigeria has four while morocco boasts two.
Another Nigerian in the list in addition to Dangote is Mike Adenuga, owner of Globacom and also Nigeria’s second richest man
The richest woman in Nigeria, Folorunsho Alakija also made the list with a net worth of $1 billion.
However, Aliko has for the ninth consecutive time. Maintained the top spot with a net worth of $10.1billion
Dangote makes his fortune from cement, oil and gas, flour and sugar.
Dangote is followed by Egyptian, Nassef Sawiris who is worth $8 billion.
At the third place is Nigeria’s Mike Adenuga and he is tied at the third spot with South Africa’s Nicky Oppenheimer with a net worth of $7.7 billion.
