The Lagos State Police Command arrested a young girl for allegedly stabbing a 49-year-old man to death. According to her, the man tried to rape her, after which she stabbed him in an act of self defence.
The Punch quoted the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, as saying “the suspect resides at No. 10, Olalemide Street, Aboru“
Meanwhile, the police relation person revealed that the girl has been helping the man with his house chores since he lived alone. But yesterday, he attempted to rape her when she went there to help him fetch water.
“She has always been helping him with house chores and while she was helping out with the water on Saturday, he attempted raping her.
“She picked a knife from the room and stabbed him. The suspect was taken to hospital for medical and forensic examinations,” The Punch quoted the Police relations officer as saying.
According to Elkana, the late man’s corpse has been deposited at the hospital for a post mortem examination.
Furthermore, Elkana disclosed that Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further investigation.
