If you’re thinking coronavirus only kills the elderly, think again. If you’re being reckless or unconcerned thinking only those with underlying health conditions die from the deadly bug, think again.

That’s the message from the elder sister to a 16-year-old adorable French girl who lost her life to the deadly COVID-19.

A French schoolgirl, named as Julie A, died after contracting the novel coronavirus.

Her schoolmates and sister described her as “bright and much loved”.

According to her sister, Julie A who “loved to dance, sing, and make people laugh” suffered no underlying health condition. However, she was unable to win the battle against the virus despite the fact that the odds were hugely in her favour.

The sister of the diseased, Manon, who agreed to speak with the Parisien newspaper revealed that she did it to correct the popular misconception that coronavirus only kills the young or people with underlying health conditions.

“We must stop believing that his virus only affects the elderly,” Manon said.

“No one is invincible against this mutant virus. Julie just had a slight cough last week. It got worse last weekend with mucus and on Monday we went to see a general practitioner.

“It was there that she was diagnosed with respiratory distress. She had no particular illnesses before this.”

“[Her] lungs failed,” Manon said. “The doctors did everything they could but it was impossible to wake her up.”

“Julie was bright and much loved, and loved to dance, sing, and make people laugh,” the heart-broken Manon added.

Hopefully, her sad story will serve as a deterrent to those acting recklessly thinking they are too healthy or too young to die because of COVID-19.
