Nigerian singer, Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan, popularly known by her previous stage name Cynthia Morgan, has lost everything. She is currently broke and battling with depression. No thanks to the harsh contract she signed with Jude Okoye.
Cynthia Morgan was once upon a time tagged the queen of dancehall in Nigeria.
She shot into fame following the release of two singles titled “Don’t Break My Heart” and “Lead Me On”.
She went on to win several awards including Best Reggae Single at the 2015 Headies.
Sadly, she currently earns zero royalties from her hard work during those years.

How Cynthia Morgan started
Her talent became evident at a very young age. When she was just 7, she started singing and composing songs. At 17, she recorded her debut single “Dutty Stepping”, featuring General Pype.
Like most singers do, she moved to Lagos in 2008 to take her music career to the next level.
In 2013, Cynthia Morgan signed her first professional contract with Northside Entertainment Inc.
Well, that record label is owned by Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, who is the older brother of Peter and Paul (PSquare).
It was within her first few months in Northside Entertainment Inc. she released her two chart-topping singles “Don’t Break My Heart” and “Lead Me On”.
How she lost it all
There’s currently a feud between her and her record label owner, Jude Engees Okoye.
Apparently, that feud has had a serious negative impact on her career.
During a live Instagram interview, she revealed that the label stripped her of all of her musical property, including her VEVO account and stage name. In fact, she went on to say that she can’t even afford a good phone now.
Due to that, she hasn’t been able to release her planned album.
The news has been heartbreaking to most fans who have been opportune to behold and bear witness to her raw talent.
Fans have launched a gofundme campaign under the hashtag #bringbackcynthiamorgan.
Mr P also reacted to the trending issue, hitting out at his brother for the ill treatment of the singer.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Morgan now goes by the stage name Madrina, consequent of the harsh contract she signed with Northside relinquishing the rights to her name.
Fans are hoping to help her get her career back on track. Many people have taken to Twitter to express how they look forward to seeing her new projects in 2020.
